VIENNA, AUSTRIA -- (October 2, 2019) Exact Imaging (www.exactimaging.com), the world’s leader in high resolution micro-ultrasound systems enabling real-time imaging and biopsy guidance for the prostate, announced that 18 abstracts by various clinical partners using the ExactVu system have been accepted for presentation at the combined ESUI/EMUC meetings. Two of these abstracts have also been selected as being among the best submitted to ESUI and EMUC. “Comparison of Micro-Ultrasound and Multiparametric MRI Imaging for Prostate Cancer: A multicentre prospective analysis” by the multi-institutional collaborative group led by Dr. Lughezzani, and Dr. Maffei’s “Micro-Ultrasound versus multiparametric MRI in the detection of prostate cancer: results from a prospective single center trial”. Exact Imaging congratulates all of the authors on this honor and wishes them luck on the oral presentation and judging of their work during the conference.
The 8th ESUI meeting will be held on 14 November 2019 in Vienna, Austria in conjunction with the 11th European Multidisciplinary Meeting on Urological Cancers (EMUC). The theme for the 8th ESUI meeting is “Less is more: What’s really needed in imaging”.
“We are very proud of this recognition and for the opportunity to share clinical evidence supporting the use of micro-ultrasound at the ESUI/EMUC meeting.”, says Randy AuCoin, Exact Imaging’s President and CEO. “Compelling results from these and other studies using the ExactVu platform support the continuing adoption of micro-ultrasound as a leading solution for guided real-time targeted prostate biopsies.”
Presentations citing the ExactVu platform at the ESUI/EMUC meeting are:
Sixteen other Clinical Posters featuring results from micro-ultrasound users across Europe will also be part of the ESUI/EMUC meeting and include diverse clinical results including the comparison of micro-ultrasound with MRI, use of micro-ultrasound in the MRI fusion biopsy setting, use of micro-ultrasound in Active Surveillance, detection of extra-prostatic extension, staging of bladder cancer, and more.
The ExactVu / FusionVu platform will also be demonstrated live at the EMUC Hands-on Training in MRI Fusion Biopsy Workshops on 15 November 2019, 10:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 16:00.
About Exact Imaging
Exact Imaging (www.exactimaging.com) is the world’s leader in high-resolution micro-ultrasound systems enabling real-time imaging and guided biopsies in the urological market for prostate cancer. Exact Imaging’s ExactVu™ micro-ultrasound platform operates at 29 MHz and enables a whole new level of resolution with the benefits of ease of use, affordability, and is an extension of the current urological workflow. Using the Exact Imaging platform, urologists are able to visualize areas of interest in the prostate and specifically target biopsies at those areas. For those cases where MRI might assist, the FusionVu™ micro-US/MRI fusion application operates on the ExactVu micro-ultrasound platform and facilitates fast, simple MRI fusion-based targeting with the guidance of the micro-ultrasound system’s 70-micron real-time resolution. The ExactVu micro-ultrasound system including the FusionVu application has received regulatory approval in the European Union (CE Mark), the United States (FDA 510(k)), and Canada (Health Canada medical device license).
